Why You Should Follow a Spime

Following a Spime ensures you can preserve and access the content that matters to you, even after it expires.

CATEGORIES:

Preserve What Matters

Spimes are temporary, location-based networks that automatically expire after a certain time. While a Spime is active, only people present in that location can access it. Once it expires, the Spime moves into the archives of its creator and of those who followed it, preserving all photos, videos, and chats. By following a Spime, you ensure that the moments captured within it stay accessible and organized in your personal archive, even after teh Spime is no longer active. Without following a Spime, its contents will disappear.

Avoid Unwanted Spimes

Imagine you’re in a busy place like Times Square, surrounded by hundreds of people, each potentially creating their own Spimes to share with their groups. You could join many Spimes that have no relevance to you. (Of course, Spime creators can “lock” their Spimes.) While you may only care about the Spime created by your group, hundreds of unrelated Spimes could clutter your archive, once they expire.

The “Follow” feature lets you specify which Spimes you want to preserve, ensuring you only keep the content that’s meaningful to you.

Stay Connected, Even From a Distance

Other than saving an expired Spime into your archives, following a Spime serves another essential purpose: Helps you stay connected to active Spimes, even after you’ve moved away.

When you’re near an active Spime, you can easily see and join it using the “Nearby” toggle at the top of the Active Spimes screen. However, once you leave the area, the Spime will only remain visible under the “Distant” toggle if you followed it while you were nearby.

Without the “Follow” feature, every Spime you encountered would still show up under “Distant,” cluttering your feed with irrelevant Spimes.

Following a Spime helps you keep only the ones that matter, avoiding unnecessary content.

The Power of Automated Follow

With the release of Spime v2.0, following a Spime has become even easier! Whenever you take a photo or video inside a Spime, you are automatically granted a “follow” for that Spime. This ensures you will retain access to its content in your archives after it expires, unless you choose to manually “Unfollow” it afterward.

Spime 2.0 also provides alerts and reminders to follow any Spime you’re part of if you haven’t done so yet. With just a tap, you can make sure your memories are safely stored in your archives after the Spime expires.

Following a Spime Matters!

Following a Spime ensures your memories are safely protected and archived. By doing so, you can build a personal catalog of meaningful experiences, organized and easily accessible. This feature eliminates the clutter of irrelevant Spimes, allowing you to focus on the moments that matter most.

Instead of losing track of important photos and videos, following a Spime helps you preserve them in an orderly fashion, ensuring you can revisit them anytime without confusion.
