Spime is a Social Network in Space-Time, enabling users to create instant, location-based groups with others nearby. Sometimes, however, you may want to restrict who can join your Spime, ensuring only the people you allow have access. This is where locking a Spime comes in.
Why Lock Your Spime?
Locking is useful when you want to create exclusive experiences, such as private events or gatherings, without random participants.
When you lock a Spime, you’re effectively controlling who gets to enter and interact with your group. You can then keep your group private and focus on making meaningful connections with the people you trust, all within the space you’ve curated!
Here’s how it works:
- Create Your Spime: Set up your group as usual, customizing the location, radius, and other preferences.
- Locking Down: You can enable the “Lock Down” feature either during the initial Spime creation process or later when you edit it. Simply change the “Privacy” toggle to the “ON” position. This ensures that only people you approve within the Spime’s physical radius can join. Others will only see a blurred thumbnail for your Spime.

Take Control of Your Spime
Keep your group private and enjoy your Spime experience, knowing you’re in control of who’s in your space! Whether it’s for a private event, a close-knit gathering, or just to keep your circle small, locking your Spime ensures only those you choose can participate.
